Chair

Ewan Bell

What I've done
  • Membership: Almost all clubs have submitted and paid, expecting that completed within a few weeks!
  • Reasonable Adjustment Policy: Unfortunately has not been finalised (writing policy about our legal obligations is very time consuming!) but it will be finalised by handover and will be able to go to summer reps!
  • Clubs: I have been working with a few clubs to guide them through internal issues, which have gone successfully!
What I'm working on
  • Reasonable Adjustment Policy: Get it finalised and through Policy Fixers by Ball, so come to Easter Reps!
  • Handover: Get the Members google drive organised and write up ready for the next Members Officer!

      Treasurer

      Lara Hagger

      What I've done
      • Development Fund: approved dev fund bids for various clubs and made sure they were tracked on the spreadsheet so all of Team Pink can be kept up to date with the process.
      • Events: answered questions and offered advice to various events happening across SSAGO, supported Midlands Freshers Camp with finances, and am looking forward to spending a weekend in Portsmouth!
      • General organising: as part of sorting things for doing the annual accounts, I have been going through the google drive and making sure that everything money-related is clearly named and filed in a sensible location to make searching for invoices/receipts much easier.
      • Money Bunny: our beloved Treasurer’s mascot has recently gone through surgery so that her ears and tail could be reattached, and to provide an internal pouch in which her coins can safely sit.
      What I'm working on
      • Annual Accounts: my goal is to have the accounts from April 2024 to November 2025 done and reviewed by Port-A-Rally (there is a huge number of transactions to sort through, plus the spreadsheet doesn’t like 2024-2 being a financial year, so I won’t promise anything - I am working with Alex to get it done ASAP though!).
      • Documents of Advice: whether I am re-elected as SSAGO Treasurer or not, I want to provide a document that can be sent to national event treasurers with the advice, ideas, and general reassurance I have gathered over this past year.

      What I've done
        What I'm working on
        • - Get stuck in and build on what I was handed information-wise at handover
        • - start to look at my manifesto aims that I was elected on, and see where I can begin work on them
        • - Submit the 10 assignments I have due so I can pass the second year of my degree!

            Quartermaster

            Beatrice Overend

            What I've done
            • Since last rally I have been busy ordering some new exciting badges - after a successful dev fund bid we have our new SSAGO award badges on the way! We have also been growing the shop project and hope to do a World Cup of badges soon!
            • The postal address for SSAGO is now my house and therefore I’ve been sorting out SSAGO post and working out where it needs to be. I’ve also just been do general shop tasks, packing orders, ordering new stock and battling with square.
            What I'm working on
            • - Help the Shop project become more active and get some of our new badge designs out to SSAGO
            • - Sort Pink merch for the incoming exec

            Webmaster

            Abi Pain

            What I've done
            • Research: while work has continued on developing a new SSAGO website, it is becoming increasingly apparent that making something entirely new may not be completely feasible, so alternatives and different approaches are being explored and looked into.
            What I'm working on
            • Alternatives: continue to research alternatives to a complete re-development of the SSAGO website
            • Stability: aim to get the existing SSAGO website into a state such that it is more reliable and less prone to going offline

            Events

            Rose Moran

            What I've done
            • - Had several meetings with space rally and helped with the final stages of their website and approving it.
            • - I have had at least 1 meeting with most events dependent on their level on need.
            • - I have worked with the treasurer to research and pick a savings account for Witan.
            • - Organised meetings with several SSAGO members to create reasonable adjustment plan and emergency medical plan so that they can feel comfortable at rallies while also support first aiders if any medical event may occur.
            What I'm working on
            • - To debrief on how first aid / rally adjustment plan is going after rally.
            • - To work alongside the new web assistants to improve tech and website support going forward.
            • - Get feedback from national events as to what they would like to see from the event resources drive.
            • - Have a chair specific initial meeting with new event to go through how best to organise a committee and suggest potential meeting structures.

            Charities

            Ben Dickinson

            What I've done
            • Registration: We submitted an application back in November and the Charity Commission are still considering it. This is much longer than previous applications so hopefully that's a good sign! It is just a case of waiting to see what happens now.
            • Club Affiliation Agreements: We have started the process with the first couple of clubs and are in the process of working out any issues in the agreement. These will likely all be unique to the SU so it isn't necessarily an easy process.
            • Handover: Having recently left the Liaisons role, I worked on handing over to Charlie who has got off to a great start to the role! I have also taken over as Charities from Alex and received a great handover there too!
            What I'm working on
            • Registration: My main aim for my role is to register SSAGO as a charity. We are currently looking at registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation as that allows the trustees (and SSAGO) the most legal protection.
            • Club Affiliation Agreements: We are aiming to have our first batch of these signed by the start of the new academic year, and then start rolling them out more widely. If your club has a good relationship with your SU, please let me know!
